Description

Rafting on Osumi river in Albania – s country, you have never imagined, you will visit and you will be delighted!

In the end of the 60ties, the albanian authoritharian leader Enver Hoxha gives an order in each village and working polace to create against atomic bombing bunkers. Thus, Albania is covered with more than 700 000 bunkers, which are not used in the peaceful days and their preparation for atomic war is under question.

Friday – departure from Sofia early morning. Our route is through Skopie, near Ohrid lake and we enter Albania. On the way we enjoy the beautiful scenery. We can see many bunkers, monuments of the communistic regime in Albania. The route is approximate 500km. After we reach the small town near the river, we accommodate in the hotel.

Saturday – after breakfast we head to the canyon of Osumi River, which canyon is 15km long. This is the most beautiful canyon in the Balkans, on some places is so narrow, we need to turn the boat sideways, in order to pass. Above the river the rocks height reaches 40-50m. The rafting trip finishes in the town center, close to the hotel, where we have free time. Visit of a cave in the area. Accommodation in a hotel.

Sunday – we pack our luggage and leave for Berat. Berat is pronounced to be town-museum, included in Unesco list for world heritages. The beautiful white houses in the town, differentiate with its own architecture, not typical for the rest of the country. Above the town there are remains from medieval Bulgarian fortress. Arrival in Sofia in the evening.
