From antiquity until the XVII century Sozopol was a thriving shopping center, heir to the Greek colony of Apollonia. Due to the presence of numerous areas of this name, the specific name of the western Black Sea coast is Apollonia Pontica. It is known as a fishing and wine center and occupies an important place in the trade in grain from Thrace. In the middle ages the town also developed as an important church center with numerous monasteries.
Day one – we arrive and spend the night in the sea of Chernomorets. Tent or hotel accommodation are possible.
Day two – after the morning coffee, follows the mandatory instruction and outfitting with the necessary attributes for kayaking – pfd, paddle, kayak, waterproof bag. It is advisable to have water shoes, as well as a long-sleeved T-shirt, so as not to burn under the strong sun. Our kayaking journey begins by crossing Sozopol bay, we reach the island of St. Ivan, where we take a short walk. Then we head to Sozopol, where we stop for rest and walk around its sights. After lunch and a well-deserved holiday with the kayaks, we continue to camping Kavatsite, where we will spend the night.
Day three – we continue our kayak trip. We pass the campsites – Smokini, Veselie, past the resort of Duni to the island of St. Thomas. St. Thomas is one of several islands in the Black Sea, also called the snake island, due to the many different species of snakes that inhabit it. We go ashore across from the island, load the transport kayaks and go back home.
